Table Rail

I had alot of input from folks on the forum regarding exterior accessories. Many people provided information on the table rail. Well after looking on Amazon, ebay and some rv supply retailers I found the rail in price ranges from $5.00 to 15.00. The problem is the shipping costs were in some cases 3 times the price of the product. I did some research and found the distributer, here localally in Fontana, CA. A very nice gentleman, Ken Osbourn with Patrick Industries, [email protected]
looked up the part number and said they no longer stocked them. About a week went by when Mr. Osbourn called me and said the manufacture would make me the part if I was interested. So of course I said yes and yesterday I went out to Fontana and picked up my table rails. Now I probaly spent more on fuel than I would have on shipping but the customer service made it worth it for me. I will be contacting Mr. Osborn's superiors and let them know how much I appreciate the above and beyond service I received. I now have 5 sets of table rails for less than $15.00.

It seems kind of odd that the lower/inside side of the rail is marked as being the table, it would seem that anyone that bumps the table upward could result in the entire table dropping to the ground if the bottom lip clears the frame. I'd strongly lean towards mounting the upper/outer side on the table so at least there's a chance gravity would bring it back into position as long as the table wasn't punted into the next camp site.

Yep, it is the patrick table rail. The mimimum quantity for the order was five, thats why I have so many.I will use two sets, one for each side of the tear, and maybe one off the back for galley extension.

yeah that stuff is awsome. camper dealer near me had it in stock.
i have one for my galley and one each side of the outside. i can hang the galley table, or use it for a little dinner or card playing tabble off the side.
i also made a trash can hanger with a leftover piece so i can hang my trash can on the side of the trailer by the galley. that was one of the best ideas i had.

I was a bit concerned with just that so I used 3/4" schedule 40 pvc inserted into a modified 1" schedule 80. Mine need to slide 18"+/- to be disconnected !

...mount it like it shows...the table will lock into bracket and to mount/dismount, you havvta raise the far end of table to a near 45* angle to engage/disengage the table...if something, off the wall, happens to do that, there is probably an earthquake(or worse) occurring...very well though out and dependable mount!!!!!!!!

I like the idea for a trash bag holder, I would've never thought of that myself.

Its good to know they take a fair bit of movement to disconnect. Does it need vertical support or is the rail sufficient for small tables, like a 18x18" light-duty counter?

...you need a leg on the outside of the table for support...otherwise, leverage will rip it off the wall...one of the best ideas for that table leg is, an adjustable AL paint roller handle.................

p.s one of my favorite grins and giggles deals is, take the two pieces apart...hand it a mark and ask 'em to put it...properly...back together..............mj
