This weekend a friend and I are going camping for 2 nights, 3 days at a yet to be determined lake in North west Ontario. Its yet to be determined because along a 20 mile stretch of gravel road there are probably a dozen lakes each with primitive campsites. No charge, probably no other people. I will post up a couple of pictures when I get back. I get the trailer, my buddy will be in a tent. The trailer even has heat, a Mr Buddy propane heater I tested last winter, it worked so good I had to leave the door partially open at 15 below celcius. Good times, even scored a new Stihl chain saw on sale for the ever popular fire.

We endured the 100_ temps of the summer down here in Texas, but now the best camping weather has arrived and going to be a busy winter starting with the gathering at Lake Bisteneau at the end of this month.

My trailer is 8 ft long with a folding seat at the back that slides into a 6 foot long bed. There is a small metal cupboard my neighbor was gonna throw out that I rescued, turned upside down and screwed to the front wall. The heater sits on top of that. Cabelas sells a hose that lets you hook up a 20lb BBQ tank so I drilled a 1" hole in the floor by the side door and made a small aluminum square out of some scrap lying around with 1 screw through the corner to cover the hole when not in use. And you bet I leave the windows open plus i bought a battery operated carbon monoxide detector, don,t wanna wake up dead .So far I,ve only needed to run the heater on low and even though it has a battery operated fan I havn,t needed to use that that. I know propane is supposed to be a "wet" heat but with the windows open for ventilation it has not been a problem at all.

Right now the "little buddy" heater is on sale at Camping World and Northern Tool. I just ordered one from CW because it's free shipping when ordered online, but don't know if that applies to shipping to Canada. We use the buddy model [not the big buddy] in our Northern Breeze screen room, tried it in our CT13 Uhaul but it was too much heat. Bought a new carbon monoxide detector and LEAVE WINDOWS OPEN a little. Didn't sleep with it on. Also have a 12 volt blanket for the teardrop. Sorry I got off the original topic here, but heaters did come into discussion. Have a great weekend, I'll be moving the teardrop into storage, and preparing the Uhaul for a trip south in a couple months. Bob

I have a few pictures and some words on the Mr Buddy heater. I parked the trailer beside a small river Friday. That night it went to about freezing so I set the heater up. Went to bed around 10pm since it had been a long day. With only 1 side of the heater on and no fan it was hot. Hot enough I opened all 5 windows all the way then put the chain on the door and left it open about an inch. Then it was bearable, especially around 4am when it cooled off a bit more. No moisture problems and no monoxide issues, the detector which I left by my head read o ppm all night long. The next night it was a bit cloudy, even got rain and it never cooled off enough to need the heater. Heres a picture in daylight friday.

this picture was taken inside, Slow was asking for a shot, the hose goes thru the floor to a 20 lb tank, using it for a good 12 hrs on low barely touched the level.

This picture was taken just across the road we drove in on, we needed some exercise so we followed the river through a cedar stand where it emptied into another small lake with 2 more nice campsites.
