12volt lights

Hey SlowCowboy,

Here's one of the threads where we discussed this. Eatatjoz and BobHenry post on their lights, and I posted how I did mine.

Here's the video I put on the Radio Shack page:

The little 12v red lanterns are one of my favorite things about my camper!

Hey Slowcowboy,

I think the little electric lights look really neat - nice warm glow. Perhaps not quite the same as oil, but still nice, nonetheless.

One of the main differences to me is I sort of miss the smell of a burning oil lantern (no huffing jokes here, please). And of course the electric lights don't flicker like a flame. So its not quite the same, but I didn't want to put oil lanterns inside the camper, either. So the 12volts work really well. Nice effect, overall.

Hey Slowcowboy,

I've never been out West, would be really great to come camp in that part of the country sometime. I agree, I've met some really great folks here on the T&TTT list, learned a lot, feel like I have friends all over the country, all over the world.

Toledo Museum of Art has replaced many of their chandelier bulbs with a flickering LED bulb.
Or a kerosene lantern with LED's http://www.ubergizmo.com/2010/04/led-kerosene-lantern/ or for you Coleman fans http://inhabitat.com/hand-cranked-led-k ... t-no-fumes
