Updating Pictures in Posts

I've found this site to be a valuble resource.
Therefore I fixed pictures in my threads
Takes a few minutes but worth it for the resource the forum is

How I did it, go to Album, open 1 picture in new page, copy the URL
then go to
Edit post
Highlite between <img> tags and paste new URL remember the 5 digit number in the old image in this case 87108

[img]http://www.tnttt.com/gallery/image.php?image_id=87108[/img

Paste new URL between the <img>and change the id= number to the old number

{img}http://www.tnttt.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=24&image_id=87108&view=no_count{/img}
Then do the other 100 pictures in the thread same way...lol
You only need to copy the URL of 1 picture though, as the only thing that changes is the Number.
The id numbers stayed the same from old forum to the new one...Thank god

Easy for you to say. You have less than 100 post. I have over 7000 to check to see if there is a picture attached. Then go in and correct all the picture url's that are within those posts.........NOT ..........

Mine hasn't let me past a couple of pages for years.....sorry but I will try to do my build....

Sounds like at this point the pictures are not lost. Some of the connection are not right to get the picture in the correct location. Give Mike a few days to work the bugs out. Sounds like the change is a rather large project.

If it was a matter of the picture info being wrong, running a batch file conversion would fix it, problem is the posts in the threads all point to the picture directory on the old forum. Only way they would work is to keep old forum running in the background with the old mikenchell address

I know this comment will not be popular and if all the old pics can not be linked to (or links fixed) is
'just let the old stuff go" and concentrate on moving forwards.... Some times history (pics) are old and out dated, in a few months it will be forgotten as we move forward.... On many forums user change servers/hosts and picks go a way or the users "clean" up their files in graphic hosting services and you get some sort of "image not available" message....BUT we all survive...

Been through this before on other forums, and once we "get over it" life will be good again...

I think I had to change about 43,000+ links in various posts to the correct pictures...

I had to update a bunch of links too, like the one you have in your sig line.
