What do the little red stars in some of the thread icons stand for or mean?

Now that I posted a reply, I have a star too where I didn't before, and the circle turned blue. I'll figure out this new setup eventually, maybe some of it anyhow. I'm one of those old guys that don't like change, but certainly do appreciate all the work Mike and the administrators put into this site. Thanks, Bob

I agree, any threads that I have replied to have red stars and all the others don't.

i am so confused, where are you all seeing stars and circles?

The circles are to the far left of each topic and have horizontal lines in them. If you posted a reply there will also be a little star in the circle. But what does it mean when the lines are moving??

ok i will have to take a closer look. maybe i am the only one that hasn't noticed this. have a few of these and the lines stop moving?


i just went back out and looked at those red circles. i don't have any lines moving, and no stars. so i'm sorry i can't help anyone with an answer to this phenom.


oh wait, i just did it again and i have moving lines and stars!
so my guess is that the stars are to posts you have posted to. and those moving lines mean a new post has been submitted.
