My daughter and I went camping for 5 days in PA for Easter. The 2nd day we were there I didn't feel very good and my back was really hurting. By dinner time I was thinking about calling for an ambulance. I spent 2 hours or more in a teardrop feeling like I was in labor, tossing and turning and thrashing around, bruising my knee cap and half way down my shin. My guess is that it was a kidney stone. I have no idea if it passed or not, or even if that was what it was. Whatever it was... don't try that in a teardrop!!! The Thetford camping potty didn't make it any easier!!!
kiddney stones hurt like heck mine felt like someone hit me it the back with a baseball bat.
went to the VA ER the doctor rushed into the room holding an xray saying look what I found he showed me the xray pointing out a 10 mm stone he was happy but I still hurt like heck
off to the laser where they put me to sleep and blasted it into small pieces I could not get out of bed afterwards my whole body hurt.
after a week I told the doctor if I had know how much it hurt I wouldn't have had it done. his reply said in a southern voice was " feels like a mule kicked you didn't it?" but that was 3 years ago and none have returned since.
Now that you pointed it out... I guess the subject title would most likely be taken in a different way! But non the less passing stones would be at the top of my list of things I never want to try in a teardrop again! I was hoping I could get some of you all to tell situations/experiences/disasters in a teardrop. My only other major ordeal was when my campsite flooded over 12", almost to the floor of the tear. The fridge was in water plugged in, our shoes were floating around, I broke the ez-up trying to get the teardrop out from under it, and I had to hitch up to my car in the water. No other major disasters for me (thank God)!
My daughter was "HATIN' LIFE"! I was really uncomfortable all night and didn't have the gut muscles to lift up to turn. All I could do was roll back and forth. She became my back-prop all night. I think she was more tired than I was the next day!
My daughter now wants me to get a bigger camper so I CAN'T sleep touching her anymore! I am now checking into a T@B even though I don't plan on passing stones every trip!!!
With my health problems, my 2008 Little Guy Silver Shadow didn't work out for me. Not to mention it leaks. At this point it's only worth the frame. Its the fastest I ever pissed away $10,000. Life gos on, I got me a van I can stand up in. It has a toilet and a shower.
