I just heat up some water and toss in some instant coffee, sugar, & creamer. Than add some cold water to cool it down. Than gulp it down.
I don't have time for sipping hot coffee. :D
Or at least I did before I quit the caffeine.
I still need it for long trips tho.

I have two ways of makin coffee( OK.. so maybe 3 ways)

1) 4 cup perculator ( bought at yard sale fer $1)
2) 6 cup coffee pot of hot water and use teabag(coffeebag)
3) same pot.. use instant coffee ( but I don't have instant )

I really like my mornin coffee when campin and found the coffee bags to be quite good ! It's EASY and quick ! The bags git stored in with the hot chocolate bags in a zip lok baggie..Then I doesn't hafta clean the pot, jus the cup ! I use them when dry campin .

Saw the coleman one, looked neat but expensive and space consuming.
We use a melitta cm10 pour over coffee maker, makes 10 cups, also have a one cup pour over for use on a cup, they both use cone filters, work awesome , had them for ever

I use a manual perculator while camping. I have a drip coffee maker at home but believe perked coffee taste the best. I would not pay 89 for a drip coffee maker for camping.

Yup! My hunting buddy has one of the Coleman propane coffee makers & it works well but, I can put my old 'manual' 7-cup percolator on the little single burner butane stove, light the Coleman propane oven, put in the biscuits when the coffee starts to perk (I'm a 5-min man) & by the time the coffee's done & poured the biscuits are too. Usually by that time his coffee maker is just about half done so he 'begs' a cup from me to tide him over :D .

I also have a single burner stove that I use a LOT ! It's actually butane and it works GREAT fer the mornins coffee and then I cook my eggs fer egg burritos and breakfast is done ! Since I camp SOLO, I don't usually take the 2 burner.

I have a coleman oven (the one you set on top of the stove) it cooks biscuits about the same time as my oven at home. It runs about 31 dollors now. I bought mine on clearance at Wal Mart for 17. I have seen where people had complained about it taking so long and not working like they expected but I had also seen post where people really liked it. I think the people who did not like it did not follow the directions. I preheat mine like it says to and it works great.

I think coleman also makes a drip coffee maker that you set on the stove to for about 40 to 45. But the manual perculator only cost 20 or less depending where you buy it and the size.

I have a manual percolator that I've used for years..but I can't find it. SO...I bought a camping French Press from REI...gotta boil the water first, but it works great. I also have a 4 cup vintage (70's, of course!) avocado green 'Empire' brand electric perc. It works very well too, and will take it to places where I have electricity. Otherwise it's the Fr. press. I just can't get used to instant coffee..probably because I enjoy the taste of coffee. I don't drink it to have the caffeine. it's just a good, warm drink without sugar that I like in the morning..unless it's hot out, then I skip it entirely.

It's really interesting to hear how people do simple stuff like making coffee..I like the idea of using zip locks for supplies in the tear. This is going to be an adventure...I'm headed to the Dam, my first time trailer camping. I've always tent camped, and usually out of a small vehicle. So I can pack stuff pretty well. I don't think I'll spring for a propane coffee maker..I could just use the propane to boil the water and french press a whole pot for me and friends, but it is an interesting idea...

This is what I like...http://www.simplebites.net/keeping-cool-with-cold-brewed-iced-coffee-and-tea/ No energy required (and even though they say to steep it in the refrigerator, I steep mine at room temperature.) I discovered this a year ago, i bought a Toddy setup for way more money, it's a little easier to drain the concentrate...but it looks like a quart jar would work almost as well. Smoothest coffee I've ever had. You can add the concentrate to boiling water if you like it hot, too. :)
