Labels

Postby Shadow Catcher » Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:02 am

I have a number of switches that are identical with very different functions that probably need to be labeled (I know what thy are, maybe) they are for the water pump, gas and electric for the water heater. the international symbols i.e. water drop, lighting-electric and gas would work great but I have not been able to find anything that would work. I am not eve sure where to look.

You can get a label maker for around $20 + label tape at Target or Walmart. It's amazing how many things you find around the house that needs label once you get one!!

And, the new label makers use different fonts, and no raised lettering like those of the 60's & 70's. It looks professional.

I've had em made at a trophy shop. They were surprisingly inexpensive.

Cheers,

I used a Brother PT-65 for exactly the same purpose. Handy device.

Labels are just like badges.

I don't got to show you no stinkin' labels. I know what those switches do

I have only 3 switches in my TD, all the light switches are on the light fixtures, so it's not too hard to remember which does what.

My ex used to put TGIF on all her socks with a magic marker.
I was sorry I asked her why. She said "It was to remind her - Toes Go In First"

I had considered one of the places that engraves gifts in the mall but had not considered a trophy company. I have some brass plate left from another project that could be used. I still have to come up with the graphic.

You can also go to an electrical supply company to have custom made labels. We do that for all sorts of things. If you have a switch plate a lot of times you can send it in and they will do the engraving on the plate itself.

You can buy water slide decal paper for your ink jet printer and make any label or decal that you want. Easy peasy

I still have to find the graphic, at least I have narrowed the search under search word icon. You would think it would be easy to find the water drop, flame, lightening bolt icon
