Amazon Supply

Looks like amazon started selling all kinds of materials and tools:

http://www.amazonsupply.com/

Edit: I knew that the front page of AmazonSupply looked familiar, looks like Amazon purchased smallparts.com

I've been buying from McMaster-Carr, and recently bought some zinc plated nuts that have the tooth type lock washer on them, sometimes called "keps nuts", so I did a price comparison with Amazon Supply. A package of 100, 1/4 - 20 nuts at McMaster is $5.34, at Amazon the same nuts are $12.16 for 100. That's more than double the price! I'll stick with McMaster, their service has been great! Bob

Yeow!

Thanks for the price comparison Mary & Bob.

I'll stick to McMaster-Carr when I can afford the shipping, and buy locally when I can't.

I wasn't familiar with smallparts.com. Although I have had great experiences with McMaster-Carr, I will cross check prices, particularly since I have an Amazon Prime account that (for a yearly fee) has "free" shipping.

I like Amazon.com because they can get most things to you quickely. You do, however, have to watch out for the independent vendors. They can go overboard with the shipping and handling cost. I have noticed.
