There are a number of possible factors involved, but we need to me mindful of the Good Sam club tire survey with over 15,000 respondents, that revealed better than 30% have had tire problems.
Failure rates on tires from China are appalling and try and find trailer tires not made in China.
One of the worst tings you can do to tires is not use them and most RV's spend a lot of time not being used.
Tires age out and it really does not matter much how the tread looks.
RV manufacturers are some times at fault. One motor home manufacturer was successfully sued because they with knowledge under designed the chassis and had lot of failures, they knew they had a problem proven by in house emails. Many RV's are borderline or over the borderline in weight particularly when loaded. This is exacerbated by poor construction and outdated building technology, built the same way they were forty+ years ago.
The recommendation at least from Good Year, is that you increase tire pressure ten pounds when driving in high heat conditions.
In looking at pictures of the motor home accident the driver was evidently wearing his seat belt but was ejected speaks to the seat mounting failure.
