Bought Clearance Lantern at Coleman Outlet

Postby Alfred » Sat Jul 07, 2012 11:55 pm

Hey Gang,

Took the family to Dollywood this weekend and stopped by the Coleman Outlet in Pigeon Forge, TN. Sort of an impulse buy, but they had this 288-B lantern on clearance. I'm told it was a return to the store, although they guaranteed it was in full working order. They said it had been marked down, because it had been lit. Anyway, it had tags on it indicating original price $69.99, marked down to $48.98, then marked down again to $37.98. They threw in a pack of two mantles.

There is a note taped to the tank, which reads "Store use, reason for discount. No other discounts".

I joked with my 9yo if she thought my sweet wife would yell at me for buying another lantern. She said, "Probably, you've already got a hundred of them". She exaggerates. Sweet Wife, to her credit, while she does not understand why I need another lantern, was supportive, nonetheless.

I was in Pa visiting with my dad and we went to the Elgin Beaver Dam were they have an auction every week and picked up an old colman stove for 19 bucks, the out side of it had a few blemishes but when I opened it the only signs of any use was the chrome grates where slightly blued...everything looked brand new 8)

I want to go to a Coleman Outlet!!!!

I guess I'd better Google it and plan on a road trip some day....sure won't be one anywhere near here....but at least we have Cabela's up the road 120 miles or so!

We USED to have a Coleman Outlet store in our area. About 40 miles away from my house. Visited it as often as I could. Bought a LOT of stuff that I really didn't NEED. Got some really good buys.

But they closed over a year ago ... sigh :-(

back more years than I want t o remember I too went to the Coleman outlet in pigeon forge
I bought a coleman 12 volt hot/cold cooler I also got the 120/12 volt power supply both have been working
for at least 15 years last time we used it was back couple months ago on our trip to baltimore I like it because
it keeps our drinks nice and cool and we don't worry about buying ice.
I recommend if your in the area to stop by and buy.

Nice Find!
They don't make this model anymore.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.
