when computers go bad

Postby pete42 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:27 am

Lost the monitor on my laptop, well I didn't lose it the darn thing started acting up it only showed everyother screen line
on bottom half of screen top part was nice and clear bottom part was hard to read.
so I ordered a new one it arrived last monday
I have been trying to get use to the offset keypad
they added a number pad something I could have done without.
the larger screen is nice but the power supply runs very hot and is about 1/4 the size of the old one.

I have been so busy what with going to doctors 3 different ones, 4 if you count my 3 month check-up with the foot doctor.
ear nose and throat doctor monday, I start physical therapy soon also and trying to reload old programs onto new computer.

I got my self into a situation as some of you know I'm retired 41 years working as an electrician/electronic tech, well another
electrician and I have been meeting on and off for the last 5 years just to talk over old times.
the two of us has grown to 24 yep 24 it has turned into a once or twice a year thing into once a month luncheon deal.
I do enjoy seeing the retired workers but the ability to have a one on one is lessened.

my right side rib is still out and hurts like H&%% I have to make another doctor's appointment for that as well as for my right knee
joint it was replaced back in 1999 it feels like it is loose moving around and hurting very much.

being 70 isn't as much fun as it was being 20........

My daddy used to stop whatever he was doing and look at me with a glum look and say, "Getting old is Hell!"
Back then, I was young and used to laugh. ...I'm not laughing anymore. Growing old is not for the faint of heart….pun, pun.

Glad to hear you've made so many friends. That's a good thing!

Laurie and I have begin saying "Getting old sucks...We should stop doing that." Once we discover the proper method for accomplishing that, we'll provide a full report.

As an ice-breaker at an afternoon meeting, everyone had to stand up, introduce themselves, and tell those listening what was the best thing that had happened to them that day. One man, that I'd guess was in his late 70's, got up and introduced himself, telling all that the best thing that had happened to him that day was that he woke up. With that statement, he grinned with an expression of great joy. :D

I once had someone tell me that at a certain point in life, any day above ground was a good day.

When I wake up and I am not in the hospital or the obituaries is a good day.

Also I refuse to admit I am to old to go burning. I may be one of the oldest people at a burn but others don't care. One of the few places a person can be themselves and get no flack.
