Looking to Try/Rent Teardrop trailer...

Postby StephenieB » Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:00 pm

Hi there! I live in Portland Oregon and am looking to see if anyone has a teardrop trailer that I could rent for a day to see if it fits our lifestyle. We live in SE portland with a shared driveway and small backyard, tiny detached garage- but I do have a large gate and I would love to see if I could actually maneuver a trailer into our backyard for storage before I buy one. Thank you in advance for anyone who may be willing to share their tiny teardrop! Weekdays work awesome for us- so don't worry about losing it over a precious weekend. And I will gladly compensate you!

Thanks again,

Stephenie

See if you have a Little Guy dealer nearby. Some of them rent Little Guys to try.
Remember, the turtle won. :)

Most teardrop trailers can be pushed around fairly easily. If you are on pavement it can be done by one person unless you are elderly or infirm (I'm 64 and have no problem pushing/pulling my Little Guy around in my driveway) If not two people may be necessary. It depends on the ground surface. I suppose three or more might be needed under extreme conditions.

We bought the Harbor Frieght trailer dolly. We got it on sale at some point for about $49. We use it to push the teardrop and our heavy utility trailer, pretty much effortlessly, all over the yard.

This won't help Stephanie, but all you Central Texas folks who are interested in trying out a teardrop trailer, check YouCampWeRent dot com in Burnet*, TX and click on Current Inventory. They rent and sell Little Guy trailers. A few years ago we rented a Little Guy 5-wide for a weekend to check it out. Fun.

*A tip for correct pronunciation of this town's name: It's Burnet, durn it, if you can't say it, learn it.
