Wow, thanks everyone for the neat birthday greetings. Sorry, there was no party for this 80 year old, I opted instead for an hour ride with a pretty young lady flight instructor in a 4 place Cessna airplane. She actually let me do all of the things required to safely take off and land, as she sat in the right seat, ready to save my life, in the event that I screwed up. We did some air work, took some pics of a local lake and campground, and she even had me shoot 7 touch an go landings. What a day, wow, I must do it more often. Dispite 600 hours of pilot-in-charge time about 20 years ago, I was a bit rusty, but I think I did pretty well, (or so she said). I love to fly, but at 85 bucks an hour, plus gas, it is cost prohibitive for me. This was a great gift from my 3 off spring, (Hmm, when is Father's Day)?
