Looks like a good spot Slow. We have nothing like that in Illinois. Count your blessings!

I know of a few Stevens State Forrest spots here in IA that are nearly car/truck only access. Big trailers would have no chance of getting down the curved and muddy access road. You could pull a smaller trailer down the access road, but turning it around at the end could be a chore. I think the camp sites are all marked tent only. Haven't camped at any of them, but they did look reasonably well kept up.

Looks like an AWESOME spot! I'm jealous!

We have dedicated primitive roadside camping spots in state forests. Just need to call and get a permit so they know who to track down if the place gets trashed.

Looks like a great place to camp slow. If I were you I would look into getting a small jon boat to use instead of a belly boat. I would hate to get caught in a belly boat with snakes comming towards me. :frightened: You could probably carry a 10 foot jon boat on top of your tear.

That looks like a 12 foot jon, not a 10 foot.
