Hi Mini Renegade, I'm very excited about attending the Stiff Upper Lip gathering, and if I can scratch up the funds, will be there with bells on with my little 1/2 Nelson woody teardrop trailer. The first thing I have to do is find a cross country trucker willing to slip my rig into a 1/2 empty trailer and transport it all the way from Southern California to New Glassgow, Nova Scotia. From there, if possible, I will have it transferred to an old tramp steamer for the trip across the pond to a seaport that is closest to Derbyshire.

After the Gathering, of course I will have to arrange similar transport back to the sunny shores of California. Now if I can't raise the proper funds, I want you to know that you and your fellow caravaners, are welcome to come on over here and experience an equaly friendly event, at some of our many local gatherings.

I have a "donations needed" sign on my trailer, but so far no contributions. At any rate, I envy you there at the Shallowgrang campsite near Buxton in the Peak District, of which I know very little, but it must be a great place for a teardrop or other trailer get-together. Have a great time and tip one for me at the campfire.
;) :? Roly, BTW what's a "bowler hat and cricket whites?"

Your more than welcome to come over Roly but I think you may struggle getting over by hitch hiking in time.

A bowler hat is a top hat but shorter and domed, it was as I was told originally worn by bankers. The shape made it harder to conceal stolen money etc. A gentleman only removes his hat for a lady or funerals (supposedly)
A couple of famous wearers....................

Cricket whites are white trousers, shirt and jumper which are worn whilst playing that british invented game of cricket ( shame the Aussies are better at it though)

Where have all the UK builders gone? Don`t worry if you haven`t got a tear, you can come in a tent, caravan or camper van.

Time is running out for bookings.
