I'm back!

Postby green_eyed_diablito » Thu Jul 21, 2011 12:34 pm

Hello, everyone! After a long absence, I'm back.

As some of you may remember, I started building my TD in May '09 and stopped construction in November of that same year because my brother was murdered. For the next year my life was consumed with closing my brother's affairs, the criminal trial, and making sure his kids were taken care of. So needless to say, I stopped working on the TD. I also dropped off the face of the planet, it seems.

I'm happy to say that I'm back and I've finished my TD, the Menehune Hut (formerly the Menehune Swoop). I finished this past weekend and I entered her in an employee car show we had at work this Tuesday where I got plenty of compliments and one offer to buy the TD.

But most of all, I want to thank all of you who sent me and posted messages of support while my family went through this ordeal. It means the world to me!

I put a few of the construction pics as well as completed pics in this album:

Congratulations on finishing, more or less, (are they ever finished). Coming out of a very difficult place in your life and that of your family a caution, get help if you need it.

It nice to see your back on here and what a great job on the tear. I hope all is well now as I know it will never be the same. I lost both my sisters and my Dad in a short time and I cherish the memories of them. God bless you and your family.

Thank you all so much for the welcomes, the compliments, and the condolences. It's good to be back.

I hope to be able to take it camping ASAP. The only problem is that both my wife and my teen-age daughter want to come. Maybe I'll have them draw straws. Or better yet, I'll have them compete in a cook-off of my favorite dishes! :D

Be well, everyone!

Sounds to me that you have been given a directive to build a new bigger one that will accommodate your daughter  8)
