Come visit us in New Mexico. We've had about 3 inches this year. If the weather holds, you'll have a dry camp-out. If the rain follows you down from Oregon, you'll be doing us all a great service!!!

A year ago today a fire broke out about 25 miles west of here that grew into the biggest forest fire on record for New Mexico. We were evacuated until July 3. This year a fire broke out north of Silver City (south-western part of the state) a month ago, and it was soon bigger than our fire last year. But most camp grounds not in burn areas are still open, with fire restrictions of course.

You are on the wet side of the mountains. If it stops raining you will shrink.

Happy camping

I went through the Cave Junction area years ago. Probably 1977. Beautiful area. I visited the Cave park. What ever it is called. Then next day was Crater lake. Was on my motorcycle back then.

The road we live on, Oregon Caves Highway, is said to be one of the premiere motorcycle rides in the country. Twenty miles of banked 'S' turns through the woods & up the mountain. All summer long, motorcycle groups ride up & down. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy.....

I kind of remember that road. I do remember the nice forest and such. But then I have ridden Idaho Highway 12 to Lolo Pass a few times. At the bottom there is a waring sign of curves ahead, for 77 miles.

And I don't like my motorcycles very loud. I ride BMWs.

Well, 101 here today, and more to come. No measurable rain in a long time, severe drought and burn bans. I'd love some rain. Thought Tropical storm Debby might help, but it appears she is not going to head this way.

I sure hope the fires in New Mexico get under control and there are no more outbreaks. I will be in the El Rito area for 2 weeks in August.

Ok, pacific northwesterners, let's rally to send this rain elsewhere! I need a few days in a row so I can repaint my trailer and all these other folks really need it. :icedtea: :rainy:

We'll take it!!! Debby isn't coming our way, and we sure could use it :applause: There is no rain forecasted in the foreseeable future.....and it hasn't rained in Indy since sometime in May.

Maybe I should wash my Escape.....maybe Mother Nature would love to rain on a very clean vehicle!!

We or I guess I should say I, because my friends 10 miles away said they had rain off and on, had a dry SUNNY day yesterday. The dry moss that has grown between my toes gets kind of scratchy when it dries out.

I'm seeing some blue between the clouds this morning.

Cave Junction is an arid, hot desert compared to here!

On that motorcycle trip that I made through Cave Junction I then went up to Vancouver Island and caught the over night ferry to Prince Rupert. It had rained on me much of the way from mid Oregon to where I caught the ferry to Vancouver Island. It then cleared up to wonderful blue skies and on the ferry the people from Prince Rupert kept telling me how luck i was as they call Seattle, Sunny Seattle. And rest of the trip was nice weather.

Sorry to hear bout your weather. :rainy:

We ordered our trailer in March so it would be here in time to get it going by spring camping weather so we could use it before it got too hot. Wrong, took twice as long to get it here from the factory as promised, so now we have it useable, its now too hot and dry to use, no rain in 2 weeks and their talking 100 by Friday. :fan: :x

Guess we won't be able to use it much this fall either, as we are saving for our fall trip to Oregon to visit our daughter, family and some friends there. :money:

Who pissed off mother nature anyway? :snow :surrender:

Cheers

Send the rain this way!

We are a day or two away from having to cancel our Fourth of July celebration. Setting off a firework display in a tinderbox just ain't a responsible thing to do.
The more stuff I take along, the more time I spend taking care of my stuff!
