Two states south of you, Slow. Near Santa Fe, NM, the high today was 19 F, and about 2 inches of powder fluff. The snow was supposed to go north of us, although we expected the arctic air.

It's a balmy 62°F in SC. It reached almost 75°F yesterday. This is after we hit a reasonable low of 25°F a week prior. It's a good way to catch a cold, I say! I don't mind either temperature, but I do wish it would make up it's mind...

High at the end of my work week was 50 - 60. Then came the weekend, the rains, and the chill! Temp is now up to 22, the highest it's been all day. It was 15 this morning. It's a good thing the river is flowing so fast, or I'd have had ice on the flood waters in the garage!

Brrrrrrr, Slow, keep the cold weather up there, I lived a year in North Dakota so I know what cold is and I prefer down south in GA. It can get cold and it is different because of the high moisture It gets in your bones, but wind cold the upper states burn the skin. I prefer the cold in GA.

this weather (we are currently having our two weeks of winter in Texas) reminds me of how much i love my puffy down vest that has kept me warm through four winters now. No windbreaker needed if it is a still day, and just right for regular cold days (and sometimes my cold office when the thermostat isn't quit working). It is always 'just right'. Do you have a favorite winter something? Fleece, sweater, socks, jacket that you turn to year after year because it works better than anything else?

Temps here in no utah rising alittle,,,,from single digits to low teens at nite and up to 22 today...I can deal with that but the smog is killing me,,,,worst air in the nation,,,,I was born and raised in los angeles and you could taste the smog....but thats when my lungs were good...now I have to wear a protective mask outside to keep from breathing all this crap. Can't wait to retire and get the hell outa here.....

The past week we have had a few days when the high was just barely above zero. Saturday I got my 1979ish Massy 1080 tractor started. Had to have the booster charger on it and a camp stove running under the crankcase for an hour and got it going. Temp at that time was 10. Scraped out my little road so I am no longer snowed in. Lets burn all copies of "White Cristmas"

But this is not as cold as it was back in the winter of 61-62. ( i may be off a year or so ) Jan. My dad and sis took the train to Denver and the train froze up and came to a halt out in Middle of Now Where Wyoming. We had sheep at the time I I was in charge of the flock. ( maybe 100 head ) they was lambing out and the temps here was -40 to -50 at night. Day time highs was lucky to get to -10. I am proud that even though I was 11 or 12 at the time I did not lose a single lamb. A ewe would drop a lamb and I would build a little straw hut from the small bales and toss the lamb in there and that ewe go in there and was not coming out. We lived in a trailer house and if you think they are built like crap now you know nothing. Me and mom had to stay up all night to keep the oil furnace going and the propane cook stove just to keep the front 2/3 of the trailer barely livable.

Ahh but the times was good.

Yah, I remember da winter of 68/69. In da Wenatchee Valley it were -24. Up Nort, in da Methow Valley, it were -40 and den da thermometer busted at da fish hatchery. Da ears and da tails froze off of da calves. My sister got her toe frostbit. Orchards froze up and had to be pulled out. I continued to walk to dur skuuul barefut tru da snow, uphill bot ways. Ve had no garage so my folks vas getting oop during da night and starting da cars. Yup, it don't get much better, you knoooow.

Now, flash to today. It was + 24 here at 1000 feet elevation and +38 at 6000 feet. Yup, we got an inversion going. I've been heading up and skiing in springlike weather. Life is good.
