Your TD looks 'blue-t-ful'! You are doing a great job. It's been fun watching your progress.

Glad to hear you guys made it safely through the storm. Mom just got electricity yesterday and my sister is still waiting. I hope Ike doesn't mess with you.

Thank you! :) Yeah the power lines down south of us were torn up something bad. Glad to hear your family are all doing well. Being without electric does bite though. We were only without electric for 5 days and i thought My wife Anna was going to call in a hit on the CEO of Energy. Me i can go without electricity for weeks just as long as i have a cool place to sleep.
We are keeping a close eye on Ike to me it seems to be doing just like Rita did. It would have come the same day I'm supposed to get my aluminum skin for the TD. :(

She informed me we were given a refund of the 51 bucks and an assurance that this would NEVER happen to us again, But we still Missed out on a weekend of camping '' The only good thing that came from the trip getting canceled was the fact i got more done on my Tear this weekend..

MJ, all in all i guess we fared ok I'm sure it could have been much worse. I hope your brother-n-law doesn't ever have to regret his decision to stay. This Ike storm is going to have a really big storm surge. We will keep ya family in our prayers..

I used a .063 mill finish from SAF and a 1 1/4 x .5 Inch 1/8th angle for my roof edge..

Fantastic TD, Eddie! :applause:
Great design and workmanship.

I hope you don't mind a couple of questions. Did you anneal the roof edge trim? Also, did SAF deliver to your home or do they deliver only to a commercial address?

Thanks, Tom

Tom, Questions are a lot of the reason i was able to built such a nice TD.. So no i don't mind questions in fact i like them.. It makes me feel as if i am giving something back to the forum.

Now to answer your questions. Yes I annealed the roof edge trim using Mad jacks method. Of lightly sooting the underside and then applying heat. I only burned myself a few times doing the roof edge.:R But i still have the hatch to do yet so there is still a good chance i could have a ER visit.

SAF did deliver to my house well sorta.. I have a LLC so i used the name of that company when i was asked for it.. I didn't really tell them it was a house address over the phone.. When the truck came to deliver the stuff he couldn't make it to my house because of the power lines and some tight turns. Luckily he had my phone number and called me. So i met him in town with a 16 foot trailer at a friends mechanic shop to unload the aluminum. My advise would be to make sure someone is going to be home because the freight guy is not going to just drop it off like UPS, you or someone will have to be there to help unload it. ;)

"annealed the roof edge trim"

What is annealing and why is it done? Is it burning or scorching the wood? I am clueless on this one.
