Yes sir, Brian. We are planning for next year. Got the new calendar on the desk top and have been penciling in the 2015 commitments to see what is open for camping in the TD. We're currently up to 3 TD gatherings elsewhere, but have decided to do more camping around here in the trailer. I am frequently in it as it is the perfect spot for a quiet reading nook, and a great spare bedroom for me to use. Last week we had expected a really BIG storm to come through so I set up the galley and extra lights just in case the power went out....although we do have a house generator....but I love the coziness of my time in the trailer. I've also used the past few days to review what is in it, what needs to go back in it, and what I can leave out cuz I don't use it often enough. I have to get over the notion that I need to fill up every square inch of it !

:ilovecamp: ttfn, Joanie Today is 12-13-14

:) Hatch all repaired, and looks as good as new. The last few times we took it out I left the hatch down when unattended..... Just being cautious.

Dean and I would like to travel farther north, and south for that matter, when we haul the tear. The way Dean's vacation time is used currently now allows us to go to closer gatherings more frequently over the course of the year. So, if we do a longer haul we pretty much use up the entire time he has since we have the travel days back and forth. This is his third year with the company and as he accumulates more hours he will get more time. We are currently letting it build up cuz we'd like to FLY to a tropical destination for an anniversary honeymoon. He hasn't been off the mainland for a number of years now and would really like to go back to Mexico or Hawaii again....and so would I!

One of my good friends belongs to a destination hotel travel club and has saved up her rewards for a vacation. She invited me to travel tropical with her this winter and would use her points for a hotel stay. I have UA mileage + that expires this coming May, so it is very likely I will "cash" in the miles for two tickets to somewhere she picks out, as I already have enough magazine subscriptions.....

And I'd like you to know how much I have been pestering Dean to cut/edit and produce the summer video from IRG. It will happen, I promise.
Also, be sure to teach those Brownies how to make Brownies!!......in a Dutch Oven. :pictures:

Postby Pinecone » Sun Dec 14, 2014 1:04 pm

After my first full season with Pinecone, it's great to look on this forum and recognize lots of people that I've met at gatherings...and to know something about you all! Today is a warm day, and sunny in Longview WA. I am going to start working on my winter projects on Pinecone...including moving the spare tire from the tongue to the rear undercarriage to reduce tongue weight. I'm not sure where to begin but I will figure it out. It's all part of the fun.

I'm going to miss some gatherings in the fall next year. Pinecone and I are taking a tour of National Parks in the western US. I am taking Sept 7- Oct 5, 2015 off work. Here's what's new for me...I've decided to NOT make any advance reservations. I know the day I leave and the day I get back; everything in between is going to be made up. This is quite the challenge and "not in my character" so I'm sure I will have lots of stories. I hope to make it over to Badlands, then down to Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, and the south to Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, and King's Canyon. I was relieved this week that the US Government has funding through September next year. One of my good friends planned a vacation at Yellowstone and got shut out during the last government shut down!

OK, this post is not about politics...it's about our shared adventures, right?

Hi Brian and Sandi I miss you guys! Thanks for starting this thread, it bring back fond memories of the great year we had as a TD family.

Sounds like an adventure winging it, Greg. With a Teardrop you can always squeeze in somewhere! And how nice to have a whole month to travel.
Looking forward to reading about it come next fall, and I am sure a video will be accompanying it as well. Good luck with the spare tire rearrangement.

Hi Greg
Your timing is Great for your Fall tour. You won't have to miss any of your PNW TD friends if you head north to start, and join us in heading east with our "Fall Crawl Across Hwy. 20" Sept 11 -20th.
Who knows, others on tour might stay with you on your trek East??
Glad to here you are well and getting to work on your winter projects....we have not seen or heard from you for a while.
I too hope to get out in the shop today to start building the chassis for Kermit??
But, the fireplace is on, and Football is on the tube???

Pinecone: hope the work includes the mounting of a "garbage bag" holder? and as far as the Verdette's Crawl goes, we will going though North Cascades National Park at the start, in fact, it could include a stop at the Park Headquarters being my neighbors/US Army cohorts work there (met and were stationed in Germany together 40 years ago-all 3 of us) if you would like.

and Teardrop Nanny?? ......"an anniversary honeymoon"??????????? That would mean a missing of a Dam Gathering!!!! wouldn't it??? NO - N0 - NO !!!!!!!!!!! E-mail me with your home address, I have a picture CD to send you of IRG pictures of what I and others took. gudmund

Brian,
How far are you guys from Wenatchee? I have a possible trip out there to visit an old college buddy this coming year and would like to see what's happening at your place.
