A side note: I did have a worker offer to help me "clean up the shop." I think he really must have said "clean out the shop?" When I finally caught on to him he had hocked over $4000. worth of my tools at the local pawn shop! His trial comes up in March. Really a stupid fool: he had to show ID, sign, thumbprint and they took his picture for all 27 items he hocked! :o

Hate to hear that, if someone ripped off my tools I'm afraid I'd have do some serious damage to....
Glad they got the bum, don't let him off easy.

The sad thing is he worked for me for two years. He was a good worker too. He had it made workin for me: He lived in a small house I own rent free. He made at least $10. an hour... sometimes a lot more. On some contracts I do he cleared over $150. a day. He will go down hard for this... I already got the judge to up his bond so he will sit in jail for three+ months awaiting trial. The local cops have some more felony charges waiting for him after this trial. He's toast.

If this only happened a year ago...

The silly condos that I live in have an annual garage inspection. Another one is coming up, but I doubt I can make the deadline.

Not to hijack the thread, but to share similar experiences, in the summer of 2005 I cut a piece of wood, went inside the house to try it(it fit, thank you very much), came out to cut another one, my circ. saw, jig saw, 4' level and the speed square grew legs.

Rich, I'm with you a 150% and I understand Brick's signature now...

Steve-

No way in heck I could ever come anywhere near to having an organized shop!

BUT our buddy Len!

http://new.photos.yahoo.com/len19070/al ... 2341590599

Builds a bunch of trailers and is always tinkering on something in there.

BUT it's always clean and organized, I think it's all of the cabinets?

Maybe there is something to be learned?

Cheers,

Coop

Len wins hands down. If anyone is neater or cleaner they should be in an asylum.
:D

Gage would win that one hands down... He had acres of that blue stuff over his tear at Shasta one year.

Len is not right!!!

Linda was looking over my shoulder and said "SEE! I told you other men don't have to have a mess! And don't tell me he's retired or something!"

Don't tell her that! :shhh: Len is setting a precedence we don't need as men.
Tell her he is retired.

I doubt I'll ever be fully "in control" of my clutter, but here's my attempt at converting my little 12'x12' catch-all room into a stained glass/carving/workshop area:

BEFORE: :o

AFTER:

I still need to clean out that last corner and build some racks to hold my glass....AFTER I finish the TD of course, LOL!

Boy, Just because a guy bags his sawdust, labels it and saves it for 6 months and uses a Dewey Decimal type system to organize it, does that make me a bad person? lol

Seriously, the place gets "flushed" twice a week. On what I call "Thinking Day". The day after "Thinking Day" is "Beer Can Recycling Day".

I'm starting to build a Truck Cap tomorrow, Because...its to easy to buy one.

Thanks for all the kind words all.

Happy Trails

I'd like to see what you are doing there. I've built one and they are actually pretty easy too.
All aluminum or wood or both?
