I think the car manufatures compensate for the lack of cooling by those highspeed fans. My wife's Honda odessy fells like the open cockpit of a Sopwith Camel in a dive when cycled to high

Metal things, like cars, are tough. The inside air gets heated or cooled, but you are sitting next to metal and glass that never reaches that same comfortable temp. So, it is a big help, but not like being in a house with lots of insulation..

One thing I would do with my 'next' tear (if I build one) would be to increase the wall thickness to at least 1.5" of foam. And one reason would be for the reason above. I can heat the interior air of the tear fine, but the walls still feel cold when the temp outside is 40 degrees. And I seem to rest against the walls a lot when I sleep..

I used 1 1/2" foil faced insulation in the side walls on both teardrops. Works great with A/c in the florida heat. It does not get that cold down here to see how warm it gets and holds the heat
