Jazzy Lynn

Tested everything out this past weekend at Hyde State Park just north of Santa Fe:

We had a great weekend. The chipmunks kept Jasmine entertained.
This was my first outing this year and I'm really enjoying the td. What a great way to camp.

This was my first time to Hyde Park too. Not much different than the National Forest campsites around NM except that there is a ranger on duty 24/7 and he keeps the party animals in line. Quiet time is 10pm and he enforces it. Also it is only 8 miles from Santa Fe Plaza so day trips into town are really easy. They also have some group sites that can be reserved. Might be a nice place for a gathering someday.

Barbara

That campground and it's environs looks and sounds perfect. Image

I'd drive all the way from El Lay to stay there, especially for a Southwest Regional Gathering!

Hiker Chick here's a pic of my classy dish towel/painters tape combo. I kind of miss it. NOT

I really don't understand why you didn't like this set-up??? It performed double duty -- dry your dishes then tape your curtain back up.

And the original curtains were not just any dish towels but microfiber dish towels!

Ode to practicality, indeed.

My "curtains" are coats. I did finally buy some decent hangers -- covered in brown velvet to keep the coats from slipping.

Yours are infinitely more decorous.

On the subject of curtains.

Ladies, be sure to check them out at night. Turn on the TD lights and stand outside in the dark. Can you see in? Would you be casting a silhouette? If so, line them with another layer of fabric.

Barbara, your teardrop is very well done, and using snaps on the curtains is a great idea! I wish I had thought of that! Looks like you had a nice trip, too! Enjoy!

Everything looks great on your teardrop! :) I also like the snap idea. I'll keep that in mind if I change my curtains.

And I see your dog approve also!!

Just got back from Lowes with my snaps. This is such a wonderful idea. I put up decorative curtains when I'm camping in the VW. Otherwise, I pull down a shade on the sunny side to prevent fading. But it sometimes falls when I hit a bump. I think I'll make a set of shade curtains for everyday use. That means I need a second set of snaps only. The 3/8" snaps by Dritz should fit?

Instead of a padded headboard, which is very cool, I bought a body pillow that fit perfectly in my 4x8. With that as a headboard and my pillows it's very comfortable to prop up in and read.

Cool I like those kind of spots for the security. Fenton lake is like that too. You can trust the wild animals but it's the human animals that worry me.

Maybe some day a gathering should be held there.

OMG thats so funny. I knew somebody who would only use those at night in the dark for that reason.

I have a question for you guys. When you put up decorative curtains that look so nice on the inside, do you make the outside look good too? I bought my curtains and paid a pretty penny because I loved them. But to the rest of the campground, the lining they see isn't too cool. So, inside or out?
