General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Thanks for all the great comments. Truly appreciated. :)

I may try the silicone on a couple of tiles that are being a bit stubborn about sticking. Sprinkling rain outside now. The camper is outside with everything popped up and out. Maybe it'll rain enough to give the door seals and pop up seals a good test. So it's off to look into curtain material and that kinda stuff.

I won't be selling this camper. If I croak my wife is to notify this forum so if any of you want to take it off her hands, it'd be available then. She's not strong enough to lift the roof and it's too big to put my ashes in and put on the mantel and it's too big for a birdhouse. ;) This will be the one and only I build for sure. Took a bit longer than I anticipated. Need to use up the rest of my time campin' as much as possible.

You know you're finished with your project when Home Depot calls and says they haven't seen you for a few days so should they put away your coffee cup. 8)

Gary I really like your trailer design. If I was to build another (and I won't) I would serioulsy consider your design. For my own needs I would make the pop up extend farther to the front toward the tongue so's there'd be a bit more standin' room. I really appreciate the simplicity of the lifting and sealing mechanism. My lifting mechanism takes a little more muscle than my wife has so's there's a sticking point with mine. It works great though for me. Your mechanism looks a bit easier to lift. A full size door is sure a plus too. Good job!

George,

Congratulation on the near completion of your new trailer. The upper bunk is a really clever idea that really adds a bit of fun factor to your design. I hope you have as much fun using it as I am sure you did building it. Good work!

My wife can't lift ours either so we're in the same boat there. I've been giving some thought to puting in some gas lifts but haven't taken the time yet. I'm still varnishing cabinets and doing flooring to get ready to goto Minden. I agree about making the top longer, in Andrews drawings it was longer but I didn't want to run the hinge weight over the window. It worked out pretty good because the bench seat/bed/table combo starts out about there so you are starting to sit down anyway, but I've bashed my head a few time while working on it with the table out. :?
Yours looks like it has more room in it than ours.
