Thanks gage, the only thing i was wrong about was it is a long bed not a short bed, plus the dealer is going to put a custom Tonneau cover on the pick up to close the deal

Nice tow vehicle. I think you've got enough horses under the hood.

Hopefully. somewhere along the line the 429 'truck' engine was not swapped out for the more common 'auto' 429. That 429 should have enuf torque to pull a watermellon out a fleas butt!

Hey, to open the hood on that do you still have to "bap" it with your fist right in the middle of the front?

not to worry the truck did not come stock with a 429 the person who built this truck stuck the motor in. and you better hang on if you hit the gas

Randy

randy for some reason the hood opens with no issues, could be because everything looks new

Once I was in the back country of Death Valley and some one else came in with a Pickup with that body style. For some reason he had to look under the hood and I just naturally pulled the release lever and without thinking bapped the hood and opened it up. The owner looked at me in amazment and asked "How did you know how to do that?"

"They all do that" was my reply.

Nice truck!

I had a '70 F-250 Ranger XLT a few years back, and loved it. Old reliable, it was. It had the old 360 cu in engine with a C-6 trans, and I don't care how you drove it, how you loaded it, or whether you went uphill or down, it got 10mpg. Sometimes I still regret selling it.

Nice Truck

Postby Wild Bill » Mon Mar 07, 2011 2:33 pm

Very Nice, With that Engine you may get 7-10 mpg while towing, depending on the Differential gear ratio. and 7-10 solo. At nearly 4 bucks a gallon in Illinois and climbing, hope you are not going too far, or have lots of extra gas money!

i filled both tanks on Friday, and been driving it all weekend and filled the truck back up tonight. all city driving only got into it a few times , to see how fast she really is :R :R , 13 mpg so far. should be better on the open road seems the gears are pertty high. another factor into buy this truck all of my toys are paid for so i do not have a monthly payment just a gas payment  and being old and slow my insurance is very low.allowing me to buy more gas

I will now more when i do a road trip this weekend
