camping in a teardrop

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

A teardrop other than the height is most anything you can dream up. Ours is grasshopper 6X10+ and could easily have had bunks installed but from tent camping experience the kids wanted their own tents very quickly.

Having built my 4'-wide trailer prior to marriage and acquisition of kids, I'm working on similar issues.

My wife is happy to snuggle with me  , but there isn't room for the almost-9-year-old daughter.

We're going to try some camping with a lean-to tarp arrangement for starters, and hopefully find a deal on a gazebo to which we can add walls and floor, either as an add-a-room on one side, or possibly straddling the teardrop in some form. As Jerry indicated, keeping the door open into the side tent would probably allow the necessary contact.

Good luck!

I can't find it now but I started a thread about a three room long TD for six, just sketching it would have been about 20' long, then I figured it could be shorter with two rooms and the kids in crosswise in a 5' wide, about 14' long, long for a TD but not crazy.
Now I have this idea about making it modular so the center room on a thee room long one could come out for more storage...
