Hey Rocky,

I don't get 50 MPG but I'm kinda close on everything else:

That was going to be my pick, until I seen you already picked it. sooo...

Ultimate tow vehicle huh?? As long as someone else was paying for the gas... How about an international CXT?

Image

Although I wouldn't REALLY need to tow a trailer unless it was huge...

RE: Ultimate Toe Vehicle aka Dream Tow Vehicle

Postby mezmo » Sat Dec 10, 2011 11:52 pm

Citroen CX LoadRunner.

I'm taking "Ultimate" to mean "Dream" so here it is. These were an
aftermarket modification, so it'd have to be rebuilt that way too. I'd
have one of the latest Diesels and transmissions installed and other
improvements etc. done in a rebuild.

This pic is from 'The Joy Of CX ' UK website - the one where the guy
converted a Piper Comanche airplane into a caravan.

Here's that website:

Wow, lots of cool vehicles. The Caravan with stow n'go seats really is #1 right now. After the kids move along, a fat fender fastback coupe would be a delight.

But if you're the type that likes to go big, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XUEvkMZHno Not much of a tow vehicle, but it's a home modeled after a 50's Dodge PowerWagon. 64 times larger than the original.

I've started what I hope is my ultimate TV. It's a 1952 Willys station wagon. It'll be powered by a Mercedes 300 turbo diesel. Hopefully run veg oil in the summer and have fuel efficiency and torque to pull most any tear or vintage ttt.

Here's an old TV that we once had. It could have had more torque though. Perhaps Porsche will make a diesel engine someday.

Not really. The torque is okay, but could be much better. What the Cayenne TDI really lacks is coolness, acceleration, and top speed. I'm waiting. I know they can do it.
