Here's a good source of information, and they will ship to you if you can afford the postage. http://www.boulterplywood.com/. Look under their marine plywood.

At least you'll see what's available and what to ask about locally. Often better lumberyards can special order stuff like this for you...

Jon,

Boulter Plywood is 720 miles each way... 12 hours and 41 minutes each way. :frightened:

Mike - I know, but they do ship (probably expensive for you), and I'll bet if you call them they might know of someone like themselves closer to your area.

Another thing you can do is find some local boat builders and find out where they get their material.

Mike - You might try L.L. Johnson in Charlotte, Mi. http://www.theworkbench.com Click on 'plywood'. They have a large & varied selection. I picked up my needs there yesterday and it was a satisfactory experience. Fred

Mike

Do you have a Menards close to you they have a product they call baltic birch plywood that comes in 4x8 sheets and it actually comes in nominal sizes. Meaning a 1/2" is actually 1/2". They say it's exterior grade birch plywood. And in my area a 1/2" sheet is 50 bucks. Here's a link to the Material Safety Data Sheet.

Good find Scott!

We have a Menards... it appears to be about 32 miles away. But if that really is the spec sheet on that plywood, that would be a good choice to build with for the price.

Thanks,
