If I wanted to stand up THAT much, I would simply go outside.

If you look carefully, there isa roof under the pop up structure. I think it's a sleeping area for children or Mitt Romney's dog! :D

I think it is cute but overkill. Standing up in a Teardrop is something I like to do myself. But I don’t think this is the way to do it.

I do not believe this is photoshop. There is no tell-tell sign of photoshop on the pixel level. All the objects in behind the plastic
still look right. The reflection of the palm trees on the front and the reflections on the palm trees in the fender would be to hard
to get right and I don’t think someone would place them on the fender. A pointed out there are cabinets in the back, but I’m sure
I can mount cabinets in a tear without touching the sides.

I Thinking it is not a true “Park and Raise the top” pop up teardrop. Lets imagine the cabinets in the back
have room on both side so support section ( the section under the windows frames ) to slide up and down.
The height of the top area ( with windows ) and the support area would be too tall to fit in a 4 foot height teardrop.

Again I thinking the guy parked it there. Raised the roof section, unfolded the front and back window. Places
in two side supports. Front of the support bolts to side wall or goes to the floor. The back support bolts to wall,
rest on the cabinets, or goes to the floor. Later the side where added. I’m not sure the sides of the pop up part
traveled in the TD itself. If they were just lowered they would block the door and windows ( if any on the other side).
I think it is still a work in progress. If you look at the front the the pop up section under the set of windows with the
palm trees reflection you see there is no panel installed. what you are seeing is the Left inside of the tear drop or at
least the left inside of the supporting section. Also you can see a hole above the door in the support section exposing
the same inside left wall. See picture I marked the spot and added a few CAD pic of what I’m seeing.

Here is just a Teazzzz of my planes so far.

This is drawn up on a 5x8 but I gonna make it bigger more like a 5 ½ X 9
I want to be able to use the TD without having to “ Pop It’s Top “ so to say.

I will use aluminum T-Track for the slides. There will be 4 and 4 pulley system.

Edit Ok I replaced the animated GIF with a small step strip of how my camper ideal will raise up 2 1/2 feet.

Maybe it is a kind of top tent for kids, or for hot nights with an outside entrance? rob

Right, and the interior of the teardrop is dark; if it was open to the top, it would be quite bright inside.

I got small trailer and got most of the wood this summer to build the trailer. I decided to put the
building on hold until I got a better plan of what I was going to build. I bought a small used woody TD for
now just to get the feel of what TD camping is all about. This will help me decide what to placed in my teardrop.

Hey If you can remember what that link was for this Pop-up, I‘d like to see it.

JuneBug

Ya the shading is a bit off inside. I was wondering about that.

And speaking of interesting Ideal what about this one. This is a Pop-Up with a twist. It looks like a wood
or aluminum frame with a canvas covering that lifts up over a simple wooden box.
This Pop-up Tear is from Yuma Arizona. Built by Vernon and Dora Grubb.

It is just imagination. With out it will would still be swinging in trees. Even the TearDrop in it self was someones idea at one time. I bet some people back them had the same mindset “ What is wrong with what we have now “?

Picture this if you will. A chorus of 25 people start humming America the beautiful in the background. The lights dim. A single spotlight come on over my head while I type the next few lines.

“ I my self, like living in the age, where we know the world is not flat. The moon is not made of cheese. You will not go blind if you shake it more than twice, and... and... One day! My kid, will have the opportunity to stand in a Teardrop if they dam well please. “

The lights turn off the crowd stands, the applause beats on my chest like a 1000 cannons. A tear rolls off my cheek.

Can’t we all just dream?

That sounds like something somebody in a pup tent would say. Do they still make pup tents or are all tents standies these days? I think you can stand up in most tents nowadays.... Dream big!

Hey, Slow, aren't you building a goose or campmaster?

You need to camp in the rain for 2 or 3 days. That will change your tune in a hurry....

The best video on Youtube about camping in a Teardrop on rainy days. Don’t get me wrong, I like to sleep. It is one of my hobbies I’m good at. And it is cheap. At least being able to set up at a table and work on a laptop or play a game beats laying around for 4 more hours waiting for the rain to stop or your bladder telling you to make that jog to the restroom
