I consider weather to be a part of camping and generally live with it. I built my trailer to be capable of sitting in it and I have just this year added some shade cloth I fasten to the TD and the over the TV and shock cord it down. Makes a shady area 6-8 foot between the TD and TV. And I found in a light rain it does actually shed some rain. To much weather for cooking? I can stand to miss a meal or so but I have yet to not be able to make at least a sandwich. That was in some very high winds in Death Valley that was blowing tents down so an easy up would not be nice. And i would not want to put up anything in that weather. It is all in what you really really expect and can put up with. I have camped in snow, cold, wind and heat. Heat is about the hardest to get away from. But a bit of shade and lots of water ( not even cold water ) and this old fatty lived. Last week camped in 100+
