The trailer is a 6.5 x 12. It is an all aluminum. It was one the dealer had had for a while. He said with the current economy his customers were purchasing his less expensive line of trailers. He did mark it down fairly well. His other line came either 6' wide or 7'. This one is also a little longer even though both were listed at 12'. It also had a larger V area, which might help with the gas mileage, and provides more interior space. It also had a couple of inches of more head room. This one has a torsion axle vs leaf springs. It also had a bigger side door with a latch. The interior finish is much better also. Actually the whole trailer is of a higher quality. [some of that I might not have paid the extra for, but overall it seemed a good deal] The hinges are stainless, and have grease fittings. The exterior skin had so exposed fasteners.. The trim is better.
I have no idea how I will do the inside. I of course want a bed, and yes I will haul bikes. It's primary purpose will be to travel to more distant mountain bike races. A rear galley would be nice... but I will have to think about that. Having tools and spare parts on hand will be nice.
We have a big 24 hour race in a couple of weeks. I don't plan to do anything to it before then. This race will be different than most. We will be riding an 8 mile loop, as many times as we can in 24 hours. In this race we can use spare bikes if need be. Otherwise we would normally haul only 2 [mine and my wife's].
