My sister married a man from western Kentucky. They were so excited when we all came to visit and talked about serving us "red-eye gravy." Turns out that red-eye gravy is just the fat rendered from frying up a nice slab of fat ham/bacon. The red eye is the pool of reddish bacon/ham bits in the center of the pool of grease. Pour it on a piping hot biscuit and there you have it. Pretty good, but I have not had it since.
Also, the only thing that belongs in lime jello is cottage cheese and maybe some pineapple.
