Woodbutcher, my condolences. I'd be lost without my brother, and we almost lost him 5 years ago.

Roly, my condolences also. Two relatives passing in such a short time is very difficult. Please make sure you take care of yourself.

Woodbutcher, don't apologize, because we all do care about each other. This time of the year is rough enough in cold and snow country without the extra stress of losing family.

So, what do I do about cabin fever? I have far too many hobbies, too many things on my Verna-do list, and sometimes (well, a lot, not just sometimes) I sit here at my computer for far too long, and watch far too much TV. Luckily I've never gotten into the habit of watching daytime soaps or news-type shows.

I do work a part-time job 3 or 4 days a week and that helps me get out and gives me energy. On my days off, like today, I'm making a list of what needs to be done. I find that makes it easier to keep track of what actually needs to be done.

I'm not much of a shopper, unless I need something. Having a hobby of woodworking makes it OK for me to browse the local Big Box stores looking for stuff I really probably don't need (but you never can have enough clamps, right?!!!!). If I decide I can tolerate traffic, then I'll go to the north side of town to the two woodworking stores there...but never when there's any snow in the forecast--too many cars, too much traffic, too many idiots on the streets!!!!

So, first on my list for today is get off of this computer, and do the final alignment of two wall cabinets I mounted in the family room, put a clear finish on them (wish it was summer so I could have done that outside), and load them up with the stuff that is supposed to go in them. No time for cabin fever today :D

Oh my gosh Roly, I'm so sorry to hear of your losses too. You must be one strong man internally because you have endured so much in the last 3 1/2 years. I remember when your love passed away and then your brother....I'm so sorry. :( My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
