Slow, I suggest you ask your dearly beloved, if she would rather live comfortably and have plenty to eat, or have a high-priced ring that only assures her that you are her one-and-only. A wedding ring is a wonderful commitment to a beloved sweetheart, but in the long run, it might be better to plan on making your life more comfortable after the big day, by planning your finantial future with a few more buck in your pocket. I can relate to your plans, as I went deeply into debt when I was only 19 years old, and tried to impress my 17 year old sweetheart with a ring that I could barely afford. She told me later, that she would have rather had a better car to ride around in, instead of a diamond that very few ever noticed on her finger. Just my 2 cents, from an old Octogenarian that just hopes to offer some advice, which may not be well taken. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to meeting you and your sweeetheart at the Big Gathering in WY. As an aside, I want you to know that I enjoy prime rib, cooked in a Wyoming dutch oven, prepared with living care.
