Well thanks a lot, Glenn, after looking at that beautiful teardrop, it makes me want to go out and throw rocks at my Lowes plywood, brush-varnished, woody teardrop. Next cross country trip for you.....So Calif, remember, the coffee is always on. Come on over.

Glenn, that thing would drive them crazy at Garner State Park! You would not get a moments peace. :? Truly a beauty, no matter where you take it.

Thanks Sandy, those pictures were actually taken just outside Gardner!!! My wife went to the HEB camp as a kid so we drove up there to give it a good test on the curves and hills!

Friends here are a couple of pictures of the inside. Like I said before, it is very simple. All maple with a water based poly to keep the tone of the wood very natural and light.

I'll add my great job! to the mix I'm amazed at the building skills of others
myself not so much I try but things don't always turn out like I pictured them.
again great job I'm sure "Clark" enjoyed his first trip and can't wait for more
like the little girl on the television commercial says "more we want more".

Looks great  Is that storage under those pillow's  I'm hoping to do something like that also. How thick are your walls, and how did you make your doors . I like the trim around them. The two veneers on the outside are great. :applause:

Nhstt, thank you! Yes those are cabinets in front of the pillows. The electrical system lives in part and the rest is storage. I did my build a bit different than others I have seen here. The sides were completely built on the bench and then the doors were cut out using a very precise pattern and a rotozip. By the time I lifted each side off the work bench, the doors were finished, hinged, the windows were fit, the interior finish was complete and the epoxy on the outside was finished. All the trim around both the inside and outside of the doors are maple. I bought raw lumber and resawed/planned it down to 1/4" for all the trim pieces.
