Smallest trailer shower ever?

I hear ya, but I have no desire to introduce that much moisture into the interior of a small camper. In my case, a LittleGuy 4-wide makes a lousy candidate for that, anyway. I found that my shower tent is plenty large to safely put the Zodi inside when the weather is cold, and it warms the tent toasty warm. The tent has plenty of mesh vent panels to provide fresh air - enough that I am entirely comfortable with the idea. Back to the the OP, were I a single female camping alone, I would also prefer to shower behind a locked door. In that case, I would consider the moisture inside to be the lesser of two potential evils, and would just take steps to contain and evacuate the moisture.

An excellent point, Bob, and good advice. When we see pictures of trailers with moisture damage it is often from exterior leaks, but I believe in many cases the rot damage is from moisture created from inside the trailer. Especially from cooking, boiling water, bathing or multiple persons (or pets) breathing.

In the case of Stacie's trailer, I think the issue is pretty well covered. She has two passive vents, two opening windows and a roof vent/fan. But most importantly, other than the interior panels, there is no wood. The floor, walls and ceiling are insulated with extruded polystyrene insulation which is impervious to moisture. In addition, before the interior panels are installed, the entire interior is taped with vapor barrier tape in order to make a complete vapor barrier.

Well I just took my first weed sprayer shower and have to say it is shocking how little water one really needs to get clean. Now I realize 98% of the water that goes down the drain is pure luxury. I could easily take a shower with a half gallon of water. Instead of a solar shower head I used the spray head from a dog-washing kitchen spigot hose. It's got a wider head, nicer handle, and worked great.

Thanks for pointing out your concern about humidity Bob. Since I plan to heat the water either in a solar shower bag or over my propane camp stove outdoors there will be very little moisture that is introduced to the interior of the trailer. And as Fred said, the trailer couldn't really be more ventilated than it is. The Zodi is sweet! But I wouldn't want to have the propane in the trailer, and I wouldn't want to have it unattended outside even if I ran the hose through the window. Though I'm sure a real glamper would settle for nothing less.

Stumphugger I thought about getting a battery operated nozzle/sprayer. I saw one on a video that I could order online, but decided to keep it simple because I don't want to have to worry about one more set of batteries to recharge or replace. And now that I've used the weed sprayer, I find it really isn't necessary because the sprayer even has an on/off catch so I don't have to hold the trigger down continuously. That was a nice surprise.

Fred -- I confess that I had not yet taken the time to look at the build journal for Stacie's camper, so I was speaking in general terms.
Stacie -- It sounds like you have hit upon a good solution for your needs. By using only two or three quarts of water, and as I would imagine that the process of using the spray bottle makes the water adequately warm rather than really hot, plus good ventilation, should keep moisture permeation down to a minimum. Good luck with it! Being clean makes camping so much more enjoyable!

I do like to give credit to idea originators - with the proviso
that I can remember who they were at the moment that I recall
the hint-tip-idea in question ! Ha! Sometimes it's just not that easy
keeping track of them all !

It all comes out to $20 instead of $40. Right now I'm working on making a second one out of an old sprayer they were throwing away at work, and using an old kitchen sink spayer and hose. I use my table top grill to heat the water as I always end up camping in the shade.
I also have the Zodi propane shower set, got it on clearance at wallyworld, still haven't used it though.

Norm, so many great ideas here on the forum, hard to keep them straight! That what is so cool. That black sprayer for 40$ is a goid price, about what i paid for my metal one plus supplies to retrofit.

Good to know the sprayer works. I remember reading that tip in a sailing mag about 20 years ago and wondered if you could really get clean. Their tip was to get the metal sprayer and heat it on the stove. Think that would be too hot to handle.

Actually, that s what i do. The sprayer itself doesn't actually get that hot, and cools down quickly.

Here in California in the summertime I'm thinking I may not even want to use hot water! It can be so warm at night a tepid shower is the perfect way to cool down before heading to bed. Makes it much easier to sleep when the temperature doesn't drop.

Now I want to design an acrylic holder for the trigger so that I can control it with my foot, like a foot pedal, to give me an extra free hand. That would come in very useful while washing my hair. Will have to work on that when I return.

Be neat to use some telescoping legs like parts off an old easy up canopy or few used carmea tripods.
