Who owns 2 or more trailers?

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

They are cheap to put plates on and insure. As long as you have a place to hold more then one or have a friend or family with some extra space. They are so small you could store 2 td's in one spot. Standys are bigger and require more area.

and if the wife objects just tell her she can sleep in one and you can sleep in the other. And when guests come you have an extra bed.

We are new to Tear Dropping and at present I only have the one teardrop Miss Piggy. But I do have a 7' Bonair Tent trailer that would make a great teardrop platform, and a 1962 Wesfalia trailer that I hope to convert into a small guest house.
My head is full of ideas for more Tear Drops made from cars!
Love the challenge of the build.
It is much like the Polygamy Beer I was drinking in Utah this summer."Why just have one"

We just sold our 71 Scotsman and now are going to get back into our 48 Airstream. Sitting in the back of the barn is a late 40's M Systems breadloaf. Oh wait...... there's a 1937 Bender on Ebay that's just 15 minutes from our house. But $3k is a bit too much.

We're camping in the Midget for now.

Wow, what a great thread. I started out with an 8 foot woody, then lighened the load with a 6 ft 245 lb "Stackable little teardrop", built and used a 3ft by 3ft Levitation TD, and moved on from there with a 4 ft by 4ft expandable, only 2 ft high, 4 ft long, and now am contemplating an F 117 Stelth Fighter configuration, with a hand carved bumper that reads, "I can exceed mack II speeds, but am stuck behind this little car!" No designs are wrong, just interesting. Good luck.

Yup, we have two campers. One teardrop 4 x8, that we built, and a Coleman pop up that sleeps five. The pop up is for family camping with kids. We are thinking of building a bigger teardrop. That would make three. Hubby has three motorcycles so he can't complain about three campers, lol. :R

I love that so many folks have fiberglass campers. I love those too. Wish I had a bigger garage!

I never camped in my life except for once in a tent and it was OK but a pain in the butt and I could never see myself acquiring and loading and unloading and setting up a tent style campsite, but I had always been a nature lover who loved hiking and offloading and enjoying nature any way and built my teardrop one the left in my signature with full steam.

Once it was done, I realized, I wanted to live this way so I sold it to get the down payment on 4ac in the woods where I now live. I haven't gone camping in a year and a half and I own three campers now! the current assortment is the right photo in my signature.

I do not have a significant other, but I rationalize it like this:

1. I have been building the teardrop as a quick build to get me camping again ASAP which is now finally ready!

2. The 10 foot 1974 Prowler on the right has now been gutted, and once completed, I will sell the teardrop and camp with a King Sized bed, Shower and storage, that's about it for the floor plan.

3. The best looking 10 foot 1978 Playmor is now gutted and what I will take my time restoring, Once completed, I will park the Prowler in the back of my woods and run water and electric to it to act as my guest house and to be a permanent campsite for when I want to camp out at my own place.

I run a 73-77 Monte Carlo club and that is my other love and prior major interest ad at one point I owned four of them, so I am definitely a collector, but I don't blow a lot of cash, I am building the teardrop, my mom gave me the Playmor and I got the Prowler for $375 :)

I don't remember where, it may have been near Boulder, but I drove by a guy's place and he had about half a dozen of those in various states on his property. I told my wife, "Hmm he must really like that car."

I can't really talk because the CRX in the photo is one of 3 Hondas that I have. I have to store one of the cars (least roadworthy) on the trailer at the storage yard because I have no room.

Yep, sold it at Pismo for over $6000. Enough to go out and buy me another trailer and do all the mods that I wanted. Here's a current picture except the front window is in. All the outside lights are on and the sink and stove top are installed. Also the birch strip hidding the seam is screwed in place. The Burro will be ready for Newport Dunes in Oct.
