I have been looking at those sound exciters for a while now. There are a few videos on youtube giving advice on using them. Seems like some trial and error with types of materials, size, and mounting them. I made some of my own with some old small speakers with a tube (medication bottle) glued to the center of the cone. Fun project to toy around with but I wouldnt use them for anything serious. The exciters probably sound better. There are also bass exciters, give the feeling and perception of big bass without disturbing others. Those would be good for a late night movie in a tear, though most of them need a decent amount of power.

The only problem I can see is that they are 8 ohm speakers and I think that car stereo speakers are usually 4 ohm. I wonder if that would cause a problem.

No problem, 8 ohm just mean your amp runs at lower watts. With small speakers I dont worry about matching power output as much as bigger subs.

Thanks. I was thinking about mounting these in my galley. The problem I have inside my Tear is the 4x6 speakers I have are to tinny. I need something with a little more bass. Sorry Bryce for hijacking this thread. I will shut up now.

Not a problem Tim. You're asking questions I would probably have down the line. I don't mind "Hijacking threads" as long as its still on topic. haha
