Where would I find a 12v matress pad. That should kill a marine battery in a matter of hours I would imagine

re: Heating a TD. The thread has been active again lately starting on pg. 2. Unfortunately in the time since I posted here, Mike had been posting some cold weather test results, and they were unfavorable for the candle heater in an uninsulated pod. Maybe it would do better with insulation. Many of us were hoping for a simple, inexpensive and safe method to heat our small spaces, and Mike has just posted some real world test results for a couple of small heater options.

Read it if you like.

I recall six amps on mine. I just use it to preheat the bed.

There is no bed colder than an air mattress. Convection.

My new home-built with the 1" walls and 3/4" of insulation doesn't get condensation on the walls that I've seen yet, but I still get the moisture on the Frank Bear glass doors (that I really like). Either way, you really need to ventilate your teardrop to stay alive. I'm not convinced varnish seals the wood completely, but my interior has three coats of poly and crossed fingers. I never did get any water damage in the Hunter. When it got really damp, we wiped the walls down with towels.

But spend $16 on that gizmo, take it on a shakedown cruise and get back to us!

They dont take care of the problem. They are more a storage solution. I think I will just get a good chamoise and do a wipe down each morning

If I recall, my double sized mattress pad pulls 6 amps. I only use it to pre heat the bed.
