I have a 6 X 12 Cargo Trailer that I put a Nu-way 2000 propane stove in. http://www.nuwaystove.com/model2000.php It is about the same size as the little wood stove you have there.

I love it. Being propane I don't have to get up in the night to feed it, and the heat control is great. Goes from about 2500 Btus up to 12,000 Btus. I do have to buy propane, but I don't have the dirt and smoke that comes with burning wood. It's always a trade off.

You still have to keep flamable materials away and provide an air supply and a good drafting chimney.

You can see it about 3/4th of the way down the page on this link viewtopic.php?f=42&t=55219&start=45 I changed some of the chimney on the next page of the build.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I'm still debating if I should upgrade the Wood Burning stove into a gas burning stove...

Can you tell me more about yours...? You can control the temps obviously. Is the low setting enough to keep it comfortable all night long?

Do you have any heat stratification? How do you dissipate that?

Mike...

Keep the stove outside by the trailer...Build a bigger insulated box to set the stove in, creating an air space, and pipe hot air from that into the trailer...The fan could be activated by a little $10. clothes dryer Thermostat switch attached to the stove fire box...
Put it close to the door, so all you have to do to feed it is reach outside without getting out of the trailer...

I did something like this yrs. ago with a 30 gall. Barrel stove....

Mike,

Here is a potential alternative;
http://www.ventedcatheater.com/2.html
Expensive at around $500 but it is vented and can be used in a small trailer.
Fuel and battery power use is reported to be very light.

When first coming in to the ct when it was cold, I would turn it on to about medium to get everything warmed up. To speed things up I used a little 12v O2 fan that I placed behind it to blow the air around. I think I only ran the fan for about an hour, and I then turned it off and turned the stove down some. During the night I turned it way down and didn't run a fan. It stayed about 55 to 65* in the trailer. I didn't have a thermometer to see for sure. Then when I got up I turned it up just a little higher and warmed things up nice. It was really cold outside a couple of the nights I was camping. Not only was the temp in the upper teens, but the wind blew all night too.

The burner is continuously variable from off to burning the top off the stove. It is a short tube burner just like what is in some barbeques. The more gas the higher the flame. I just adjusted my flame height to about 3/4 in high for low and about 1.5 in for med to warm it up quick.

The only part of the ct that was consistently cold was the floor, and I am going to be insulating that this winter (or more likely this next spring when the temps are back up for the glue.)

I am not sure how big your TD or TTT is. Mine is a 6x6x12 ft box, and I can't turn the stove all the way up or it would drive me out. To run it at higher temps I would also move it further out away from the wall, even though I have a shield there.

If you camp consistently where you have electricity, then the ceramic heaters should work for you. I consistently camp without any electricity, and my lungs won't tolerate the fumes from the catalytic heaters (plus they scare me too much to run at night). Even with this one I have a CO monitor. So I looked at the RV furnaces, but they looked like too much battery use, where I might be out for a week or more. A couple of the other CT builders put in the Dickinson propane stove and they love them. They are a beautiful little stove. http://dickinsonmarine.com/propane.php If you watch for sales, you can get them for less. Here is a post on GoneFishin's stove install viewtopic.php?f=42&t=56858
