Mike, when the weather starts to warm up you will have more time to build. Start buying the parts you need now while you have the money. When the weather breaks start working on it. The type trailer you want would cost more then ten grand to have someone else make. Have Angie spend her weekends by you and help. It could be a fun project to do together. The more involved she is the better she will like it.

I'm thinking the Campmaster 12 in the design library with some modifications.

The only thing that a TD lacks that we really need is a toilet. Since its just the two of us, I would convert the front bunks to wardrobe and storage type cabinets and put a cassette toilet in one end of that space.

Chalet makes a tiny A-frame one that supposedly weighs around 1100 pounds. Unfortunately it is not bare bones and has water, a fridge and a stove and probably a heater.

If you are going to camp with kids, that would not do unless they slept on the floor. It only has one bed.

Let's look at this way what do you want of a trailer.
you could have a standy or you could have one that pop's up.
Restroom do you want to just go some where and flush or have it on board and deal with the smell and dump it.
Do you want in inside kitchen or one out back.
do you want a hard top or a tent top
a bigger one means using more gas, having more room.
fixing up an old trailer it brought up to it's original condition is a lot of work but the rewards of what others see and ask about can make it all be worth it.

you could build one like this with inside kitchen and bed.

I do not know what trailers you have and are old but fixing them up if done right can make your whole world blossom in many ways.

I do not know you skills, your dreams , your love for the out of doors, nor do I know where you love to camp but it is time to start a list and see what comes out of it.
