Power consumtion using the Coffe pot you bought as an example.

120V draw is roughly 4 amps Divide the power by the voltage gives you the amp draw. Now for the inverter to provide 4 amps at 120v it has to draw between 45 and 50 amps from the battery. If you are using a standard car battery in your trailer, you can sustain this for about 30 minutes before the battery will need to be recharged.

Ditto!!! Simple, quick, fresh, the strength you want, the quantity you want, quiet ( no charging batteries while running tow vehicle), efficient on a gas stove, use extra hot water to wash up breakfast.

I do use an inverter. I have a converted cargo trailer. My primary use, is for mountain bike racing, mostly endurance events. For 24 hour racing, we of course need bike lights. We use fairly expensive rechargeable units. I use an inverter to recharge my lights in our trailer, an expensive pure sine wave inverter. The solo racers get to set up right on the side of the course. My trailer is backed right up to the loop, and is used as the pit area for several solo racers.

I realize it may seem bizarre or inefficient to take dc voltage, convert it to ac then use that to charge dc batteries. These lights have fairly sophisticated batteries and charging systems, and even the variety of lights I have don't use the same charger. It felt easier and "safer" to go the converter route.

oh.. and we use a french press for coffee.

After hours even during the race.. one can't be starting a vehicle or run generators to charge a battery

I thought I'd posted this, too. We have one of these and it works quite well for a cup or two. Heat up water in whatever pot you have and pour it over. About $3 for the filter and about the same for a pack of paper filters. Cheaper than a trip to Starbucks for two.
