I agree Brian. It's funny that just a few years ago if I'd traveled to Europe it would have been to see the typical tourist sights, museums, and eat the food. Now seeing vintage European caravans is high on my shortlist. Same with Australia. Instead of just enjoying their wildlife and food, getting a peek at some of their new and vintage tiny trailers will definitely be on my agenda. The neat thing about this forum with so many international members is now we can find out if there's going to be a tiny trailer rally to attend internationally while on vacation so we can maybe pop in and check them out, if and when we ever make it to another continent

I was reading a few articles last year about the people working the new booming oil fields in the central northern states, and how there is no housing available, and how people were sleeping in their cars, and such.
Seems like a teardrop would be perfect for that type of thing. easy to heat, and more comfortable than a car.
Kind of ironic that many of those guys make 60-100k a year, but have no place to live....

Just finished watching the 6:00pm news, Where it was reported that unemployment here in Canada has hit a 6 year low?
And the world price of Oil/Barrel is as low as it has been for ?? years.
Must be a good time to travel.  Just got back this morning from picking up my next Teardrop Project.
That brings my crossing of Washington of Washington to 6 times in the past 20 days..........getting to know the routes like the back of my hand.
Thanks for the "Positive" posts on this thread ....minus two!

Another Teardrop based off of a 1948 Chev Fleetline Areo Sedan.
I will use the back of a cab from a 49 International KB1 or 49 Chev PU for the bottom of the front, and am looking for a 1937 Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, or Desoto 4 Dr. Rear for the top of the front.
Have a picture in my head!
Thanks for asking.

I figure the growth in teardrop interest has much to do with the internet. I never heard of one until I ran across tear plans searching for boat plans. Without the internet I most likely would never have found tears. I try to bring tears to the attention of members of boat building and DIY websites, as they are the most likely to build one.
The internet has no borders, and even the language problem can be worked around, most of the rest of the world suffers with smaller cars and higher gas taxes, tears are way to camp in comfort, on a budget, with a smaller efficient car. (The Ford Focus was the best selling car in the world last year, you can't pull much more than a tear with one)
While gas prices are slowly falling, it still hurts, I learned to drive on 97 cents a gallon.

For me it was under $0.50/gal back in 1968. Used to have to have my friends chip in so we could cruise on a Friday night in my 1949 Austin that I paid $10.00 for! Today gas is more, but the ratio income vs gas price is way better. My friends don't have to chip in any more.
Life is so much better when you are on Teardrop Time!

I think We must be about the same age Brian, because that was about the same time and price of gas when I started driving, and yes it seemed like I was always looking for gas money......LOL

I'm leaving tomorrow morning, headed to Eugene area, Cozy Cruiser needs to do some Warranty work on my TD, I found some broken welds in my frame, wish me luck, I hope to be home no later than Weds. Then load up Thurs. and take off Fri. morning, that is unless something goes wrong at Cozy Cruiser! So I will be burning some fuel this week!

So I joined the board 2-1/2 years ago - but just got my trailer last weekend - am I a noob?

(Sure feels like it!)

We're going to break it in next weekend so right now it's making lists of things we need, things not to forget, etc.

Haven't been this excited about something in a loooooong time!
