Uncleaned kitchen complete with vintage pots pans and dishes (also plenty of rat poop).

Someone did a nice job building the kitchen. There is an ice box on the right (can't see it under all the junk). I am terrified to open it as it had not been open for 15 years and assumably has 15 year old food in it. Need to get my hazmat gear on before I start the cleanup.

Nice aluminum work on the bottom edge of the hatch. I wonder if then is a standard piece of aluminum Stock you could buy back in the 40s?

Really like the detail of the original construction but will probably rebuild it with insulation.

Hey, Dave!

I've never seen that piece on a '40s teardrop ... ... doesn't mean they didn't have it, then, just that I haven't seen it used. It's what we used to call T-Molding in the camper industry, and was readily available from several sources bent to your specs ... it's a pretty easy piece to reproduce (though a bit tedious), if you have a sheet metal break handy or available to use (if you don't, I do and can bend one up for you).

Looks like you have some work ahead of you ... ;) ...! Continued Good Luck, and as always ...

Dave,

I registered my 1947 Kit. I had to take the trailer to DMV to verify the vin. My trailer does have a data plate and door sticker that had the vin. I tried to register the trailer and YOM plate at the same time. The DMV inspector verified the vin and made it a PTI. The PTI bounced the YOM plate. It took me more than 6 months to get the YOM plate registered to the trailer. I would do them separate next time. The trailer was out of the system. I had a signed pink slip. I had a bill of sale to one person. I also had a bill of sale from that person to another person. I bought the trailer from the second person. I got a bill of sale and a statement of facts from him. I filled out a statement of facts too and took all to DMV. I only spent two hours at DMV. Good luck with registering your trailer.

1330 W 222ST. That's an address not a vin. number. Wonder what city? Can't help more than that. (not much) Les

Can't belive I did not see that the number is an address. Cool!!!!

I tracked ownership back to the orginal owners son but have not been able to connect with him yet. Hopefully soon.

Finally had a few hours to get started on the clean up. This trailer has been home to many many rats and hornets.

Galley cleaned up nice but needs to be complete wood replacement.
