Someone did a nice job building the kitchen. There is an ice box on the right (can't see it under all the junk). I am terrified to open it as it had not been open for 15 years and assumably has 15 year old food in it. Need to get my hazmat gear on before I start the cleanup.
Nice aluminum work on the bottom edge of the hatch. I wonder if then is a standard piece of aluminum Stock you could buy back in the 40s?

Really like the detail of the original construction but will probably rebuild it with insulation.
... doesn't mean they didn't have it, then, just that I haven't seen it used. It's what we used to call T-Molding in the camper industry, and was readily available from several sources bent to your specs ... it's a pretty easy piece to reproduce (though a bit tedious), if you have a sheet metal break handy or available to use (if you don't, I do and can bend one up for you).
