I would just build one the way I wanted, this site is full of people who build and we would be glad to help with construction and material ideas.

I second build it yourself. Lots of good info here .
I would also like to throw out dont buy " Paul Butlers" camper plans they are a compleat rip off.
Glenl plans are good for the 40 some odd bucks they cost.

I think building one will be my only option. I'll have to turn the heat on in the garage and get some measurements. Thanks for all of the advice, Ed.

If you go to the Glen L site and look at customer pics there is some that show the framing if you want to see how they did it

If it were me I would look at the foamie section, then build the part of the camper from the bed rails up with 2" foam. With some wood framing for the doors and windows, and roof rack mounts. Your camper shell would be super easy to heat or cool, quiet, and light weight.
Foam would also be easier to sculpt into rounded shapes to match the syling on modern trucks.
Even if you don't like the idea of foam walls and roof, you could just splice some foam in at the corners, then fiberglass over the whole top once you got the profile you wanted.
make sure you share picutures :pictures: if enough people like your build I could see this being the start of another section for tnttt! "Truckers!"

Having had one I can tell you that by building it yourself, you'll get exactly what you want, it will be far better than any factory built, weigh much less and cost less. In reality, it is far smaller and less complicated than a TD.
