YOu're the most familiar with what you want of course. It seems to me that a hard sided trailer would have to be larger and heavier. Along with harder to load/unload. I think that a scale model mockup would help. Popsicle sticks and kayaks cut out of foam would help.

But that's just me...

If hard sided is what's wanted OP should check out snowmobile enclosed trailers. See if a dealer will let you "test drive" it for how a big lightly loaded trailer handles.

Yea a curtain sider set up like on a truck would be the go.
Easy to load and unload and would look pretty cool

Thanks for all the input! We finished up the last show of the spring and are doing some serious evaluations. We are starting to rethink this so the trailer may not be needed after all. I may still play around with this idea some though. Even though I don't really need it, I still like the of an enclosed trailer for short trips
