Do you recall what the hardware costs per door was?

And how's the weather down there?

Well the weather cleared up. Made out fine. Yes the door is low but it keeps the rain going away from the trailer.

Glad to hear that about your weather! But rain? What's rain? Haven't seen that in Idaho for months.... just smoke.

I built my own doors because I wanted a certain style/design. That said, I found door construction to be more time consuming than hatch construction - time that could have been spent camping. Also, I didn't save any money building my own. The price of hardware, trim, windows, etc. exceeded the $300 per door cost of "store-bought" doors. If the look of pre-made doors suits you, I'd recommend that you pay the price.

Hi from Downunder. I made my own easily and much cheaper. My walls are 15mm ply and I used a 5mm bit in my router to cut the shape and then the cutouts became the doors with a perfect gap for the seals. I then did a further cutout on the doors with the same bit and made Wiley windows for each with fly screens on each. Both doors and windows have proved to be water and dust proof and have served me well with much use in all weather and dirt roads. The is plenty of info on the net on how to make Wiley windows for boats that are also very suitable for teardrops. If and when I can steal my Teardrop back from my grandson I'll take a few pics and post them.

Have to agree about DIY doors. That was the most difficult and time consuming exercise. One of the doors had to be re-built due to warping. Save your money and buy manufactured if you can.
