There's a knockout hole in the drain pan of the a/c. You add a rubber grommet, and some flexible tubing, and drain it through the floor...

Eric, you would have to put some sort of drip pan under it with a tube draining down to the ground somehow..thats what i plan on doing anyways.

Big drain tubing? I have had some in-window units clog up a small tube used for drainage.

Sounds good. :)

Mike look over over the pics in the following ,,the fan is sitting in the a/c hole,,,a slight mis calculation though,,the hole is longer than the ac,,,had to have about 4" hanging out into the galley,,no prob though,,,it gave plenty of side ventilation for the compressor and coils,,,one word of caution,,be sure you have enough room to close ya hatch,,,a little shuffling and it works great,,

Found this on the Kuffel Creek site...has some real nice options for AC in a teardrop. I like the remote option:

Did you create a new album, and forget to "share an album"? Cause I'm not seeing the a/c photos.

I'm with Mike on this one. All I see is a "TD is born" album.

Yep, I can see them just fine now... other than a little contrast problem on the inside photo... Anyways, yes, I've done a drawing exactly like you have it built. The problem I see is what if it is raining out...

Or let's really play it up. It's really windy, and the rain is coming down really good... only it's coming down horizontally instead of vertically and it's coming down in buckets full. It's also really hot and really humid... and you want to run the air....

What would you do?

1) Leave the hatch open and let every thing get wet so you can get a good nights sleep...

2) you leave the hatch closed so things stay dry? and give up the a/c for the night...

Mike ,, why you want to rain on my parade????but since you brought it up,,,funny you should ask,,,I am thinking on and looking at making a vinyl boot that snaps over the sides and across the bottom of the galley with a cut out for the a/c,,with it in place I can leave the hatch open and it will keep light to moderate rain out and also make it harder for the critters to get into the galley,,a small bungie across the top of the a/c,,and hooked to each side will hold the boot snug around the a/c,all this just in case my not-so-easy-up gets blown away in this storm I am getting ready for,,If all else fails I will "bug-out" and take my old butt home,

sorry for the poor contrast but along with computers I also am not a photographer,,I was too close to the galley and had my back to a fence,,Ill try to get better pics this afternoon,,,

Oh I'm sooooo sorry... I didn't mean to rain on your parade...

But it's raining, it's pouring... you know...

I wonder if this is the answer I am looking for???

Mike...

Naw, you don't want to bug out... cause then we won't find a solution to this design problem!!!
