It's too bad that the corporate bean counter types don't get that customer service matters.

Yeah, they could have saved their money though. I've been going to that pub for nearly 50 years.
From way back in the day, when you had to sign a declaration in the bona fide traveller book to get a beer on a Sunday arvo.

Why yes, yes you did. Chili is a vital ingredient in a Fat Aussie pizza.

It balances the sweetness of the pineapple and the saltiness of the olives and anchovies, and cuts through the grease from the pepperoni and slatherings of cheese, you see.

Never heard of the chili either.. then again, never tried pineapple on pizza... now anchovies, I love them on pizza.. so guess there's always room to try more things...
With the chili, do you also use tomato "pizza" sauce on the crust..?

lets see hamburger , sausage, tomatoes, all sound great and familiar. The beans ( if you add beans )
might be a stretch but held in place with a big ol glop of cheese might just work. The taco seasoning in moderation might just be a great addition. I'm all in I think I am gonna give it a try,
Growing older but not up !

A gourmet pizza recipe from a different corner of Australia has blue vein cheese as it's base, topped with prosciutto and sliced pears.
It's an almost unbeatable combination

I use to work at a pizza place here in Texas,, Start with the fresh dough crust, special pizza sauce with seasoning in it, and then covered that with round slices of provolone cheese,, heated up the ground sausage, bacon, add both, with peperoni.. then the garden veggies, and anchovies.. no cheese on top.. was always a winner...
And all the above sound worth trying sometime.. different is awesome... for sure..

Pineapple on pizza is very controversial. Since I host wood fired pizza nights at home, I have learned tolerance, and I even have it myself occasionally.
But the sweetness has to be balanced against salt, fire and savoury toppings to work right.
I use this for the sauce, with a little sea salt mixed in.

Tried that, in my wood oven at home. I reckon the best way to make it is to make a tomato, mozzarella and sliced pear (from a can) pizza, then while it is still steaming hot from the oven crumble on the blue vein cheese and add the prosciutto.
It's easy to cook off most of the blue vein flavour and burn the prosciutto if I add them pre-bake.

Perhaps my most favourite topping combination is still tomato, hot soppressa, mozzarella, pork and fennel Italian style sausage, Red Leicester Cheddar.
Toppings placed in the order listed deliver the flavours right.
I've been trying to keep in calorie deficit since early January. Not doing too badly, down 15 kg so far.
When I made pizzas a couple weekends ago, I calculated I could deliver this pizza (~12 inches) for about 1800-2000 calories.
So totally fine if I have nothing until dinner that day.

I've been working on and off on a portable woodfired pizza oven made from a propane cylinder.
Since I am a tightwad, I insist on "found" materials only.
When it's done, if it ever is :) , I'll share it with the forum.
I would absolutely love to be able to cook a decent woodfired pizza while out camping.

I'm guessing a propane tank would be great for that.. will be watching for when you have it done.. I have a couple tanks..
There were a couple posted to Pinterest at one time that people had made..
until those I never knew people did woodfire roasted pizza..

Working more on a flip top work bench for the end of the table saw.. needed to be a little of everything.
Table saw flow bench.. gluing table with bench dogs for clamping projects while working on them..
Also needed to be able to use it for smaller tools, bench grinder, scroll saw.. sketching table..
So came up with the idea to make it a flip top..

Can see the full project here: https://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=74704&start=135#p1308376

Took a break from working on the shop part, and finished up a little project..
Years ago, when I was about 7 years old, I made some little bird houses in our garage..
My grandfather came over one weekend, and bought everyone I had built.. ;)
then he explained a bird house that he made when he was a kid.. and made me a sketch..
The following design is my grandfathers.. roughly sixty years later..

It consist of two fronts, the tops, a large juice can and a dowel..

174429

I made up a prototype to work out the measurements.. out of some scrap plywood..

174430 174432 174433

Then had a piece of teak, just the right size for the parts and went from there..
